Log on and play Project Powder from 1:00pm to 2:00pm Outspark time (PDT).

Whether or not you’re a hardcore Project Powder character, you’re invited to check out the skills of the Outspark Staff members as you race, battle, and play coin mode against us.

All of us will be in the GM_Team Clan, so you’ll know when you see us that we are in the office and our pride is on the line.

Remember, some of us will randomly give you guys free premium items, so make sure to be online.

Now’s a better time than ever to start playing Wind Slayer! Here’s why.

Start a character  now and you will automatically join the race to level 45 event.

Also, by being online this Thursday,  July 30, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM (PDT) on any character, you will be entered into the raffle to win a Nintendo DSi! For full details, click here

Wind Slayer has seen a lot of cool updates recently, including permanent pets that level up with you, A new PvP system, capture the flag, and another mode (King of the Hill) is on its way as well.

At 1:00 p.m. PST this Thursday, July 23, a bunch of the Outspark Staff logged on Project Powder to play with the users.

Most of us joined rooms that were already created, sometimes finding other Outspark players from the office within the room, which would always result in some office trash talking during and after the race.

Personally, I played mostly battle, but also did race and coin mode.  After talking with other people in the office about it, a lot of us shared a similar experience. We’d feel like we were doing well, but then get passed at the last second because of some short cut we missed!

It was really run and we look forward to the next.

There were also premium items given away randomly to users online.

If you missed your opportunity, we will have another event next Thursday at 1:00 p.m. PST again with even more premium prizes to give away.

Also keep an eye out for new Kudos Items coming out, and new maps.

Looking good Ross and Beth!

Although it may seem like wearing stylish Rocawear while hitting the slopes would affect their ability to race, the Project Powder characters are way too pro to let that happen.

And hey, there’s also a raffle going on giving you a chance to win some real Rocawear for yourself!

Check out all the details here

In order to promote the new server, Cypion, where everyone starts out as level 1, there was a trivia contest Sunday, June 13, where the players’ levels didn’t make a difference. There is usually more than one event per week in Fiesta and every event is open to all levels.

This event wasn’t advertised on the event calendar (which many events are not), so I thought it would be good for you guys to see some of the stuff going on you might normally have missed. To make sure everything went smoothly, the veteran GM superstar, Nekopon, ran it. After it finished I asked her a few questions.

Can you describe the event?
“Once the event began, players were able to talk to an NPC in Elderine that would port them to the designated Quiz arena zone. When the arena was full, anyone else who ported in could only stand on the sidelines. The arena was split into two squares, one with an ‘X’ in it and the other with an ‘O’. I would ask the users a trivia question with two different answers.

If they thought that answer number one was correct, they’d stand in the square with an ‘X’ and if they thought answer number two was correct, they’d stand in the square with an ‘O’. Whoever stood in the wrong square would be kicked out of the arena and sent to the sidelines, and the next question would begin. The last person standing in the arena got a permanent Tiger Raccoon mount!”

How smooth did the event go?
“Even after hosting many events, you still can’t expect everything to go as planned, but that can be part of the fun sometimes. The players aren’t always interested in an event where participation is simply following directions. In this event, they are able to make their own decisions by choosing an answer opposite to their friends and other players, or simply following others. But the players ended up knowing more than I thought. After thirty minutes, less than fifteen people were eliminated. I had to use much harder questions.”

In the end, the users had a great time, and even the fans on the sidelines got a reward for showing up.

For the readers more curious about [GM]Nekopon, you can read the interview between her and Straega here. It will provide you with a more intimate perspective on both GMs =D
