MVP Forum Contests

Two extremely entertaining Forums MVP contests are ending today, and if you haven’t seen them yet you definitely should.

The first is a contest based on creating the best Fiesta-based pick up lines. It’s currently 22 pages long but well worth the read. The pickup lines are just too funny, I was laughing aloud.

The forum thread can be found here.

The second is on the DGO forums because it’s based off making a song out of the words of a song called “It’s You, It’s Me” which is in DGO.  The objective is to rewrite the song using your own words and relate it to DGO, including the title. There have been some pretty good entries.

The forum thread can be found here.

If you are wondering what an MVP forum contest is, or what’s the point: Wining an MVP forum contest will earn you a bronze forum MVP badge. Once you win 5 you will get a silver badge, and after 10 a shiny gold badge will be yours.

Screen Shot Winners

To see the winners / runner-ups click here.

The winners were chosen because of their style and also creativity.

A lot of pictures were quite similar. For example, there were a lot of pictures relating to love, hand-holding, hugging, kissing, adventuring together, etc. Although this is a very nice theme and a lot of the pictures with this theme were good, we didn’t want to select more than one winner with this theme. Asakura_Ryoko_’s picture stood out simply because of the simple beauty of the image itself, not the beauty of the relationship between the two characters. While many screen shots were very adorable and fun to look at, this one in particular allowed the viewer to feel like an audience member to the wedding–part of the experience, instead of an observer of a couple during a cute moment.

The same went for screen shots of a character either casting a spell or standing in a pose that made the scene epic. So many of these pictures were well done and very hard to move past when choosing a winner, however they were mostly common to each other at the same time. Librachan’s picture stood out because it highlighted the land, not the character. In fact, the character is not in the front of the screen posing for the shot, but sitting on a tree branch, admiring the landscape.

The other 3 winners were unique because of the scene being displayed, but just as importantly, they were also visually very nice. A lot of screen shots were clever and unique as well, but didn’t make it for very small reasons that can’t all be listed. Mostly it would have to do with angle, visual elements, colors, etc.

Remember that there were a lot of entries and choosing winners and even runner-ups was very difficult. I’m not sure why I thought I’d be able to pick only 3 in the first place. If you are disappointed that you didn’t see your picture in the thread, I am very sorry, so many of them were hard to pass up!

Screen Shot Contest Update

I feel I must warn you guys that I am beginning to worry about this contest. It’s only been 3 days since the contest began and we’ve received so many really good screen shots.

Picking 3 winners is going to be a grueling process–very difficult and time consuming.

So to make things easier, I am allowing there to be 5 winners instead of 3. This means 5 screen shots will be featured on the blog with a description of why they won, and these 5 people will receive a 30-day Good Morning Costume.

However, only 3 will still get a thumbnail of their screen shot featured at fiesta.outspark.com.

Keep it up!

P.S. Try and remember to name the email “Screenshot contest” or anything with the word “screenshot” in it as one word, it will help out a lot.
